A late post for Illustration Friday's word of the week - "new".  I never like posting something on a Thursday, knowing it won't even be on the site for 24 hours buuuut I started a series of bride and groom illustrations, this being the first, and am eager to share!  Just finished it moments ago... and now I shall begin creating the next newlyweds!

This is my illustration titled "Fish" Bowl.  I'm posting it on Illustration Friday for this week's topic - whiskers!  I'm hoping to do more cat illustrations in the near future...

Fireflies

This is for Illustration Friday's "Sky" topic.  The girl's name is Petunia, and she goes on adventures in her dreamworld where magical things happen!  

who needs a dog when you have a pet armadillo - FINISHED!

So... this was a work in progress from an older post, but I've completed the illustration and wanted to share it.  I've been playing more with digital backgrounds.  The illustration is done in colored pencils, except for the sky.  As always, more illustrations on their way, using these characters!  On the fence with names for the two of them, so I welcome any suggestions.  :)  Again, I really enjoyed creating them, and I love imagining the other excursions they might take together!

Storytime

I had a lot of fun creating this illustration.  I'm in the midst of writing a children's book about my frog character.  More illustrations with him to come soon!

   

The Crooked Man

Another post for Illustration Friday.  :)   This week's topic is "crooked".  

stripes

i've always been drawn to zebra stripes, as well as zebras themselves.  they're fascinating animals.  i feel as though they're the most "modelesque" of the animal kingdom.  i plan to do more illustrations with this character soon.  the stripes required quite a bit of sharpening my colored pencil, but it was very enjoyable creating this elegant lady.  :)
